Systems Integration and Programming Specialist , CCP, DMC-E
Jay Rice never backs down from a challenge. In fact, he welcomes them.
“I enjoy the challenge and creativity involved in helping to design and roll out working solutions that are just what the client needed,” Rice explains. “Operating at the bleeding edge of technology certainly keeps things interesting.”
Rice has worked as Systems Integration and Programming Specialist for SCS Home Entertainment for a dozen years, becoming an expert in the field and the man to turn to when tough questions need answers. He has integrated and programmed simple single TV and stereo systems to full-scale personal home theatres and full-home automation with lighting, climate and security.
A self-proclaimed home theatre enthusiast, he began his career in the 90’s through a simple referral to his parents.
“I told them (his parents) the only place to be, would be SCS, since they sold more upscale equipment that would be better suited for what they wanted,” he said. “Larry came out to our house for a site survey and mentioned a delay in service because of being short-staffed.”
Hearing that, Jay applied for a job, interviewed and the rest is multi-media history.
“Through the years, I have learned perseverance and patience to figure out tough problems and not to give up in the hope that someone else will fix the problem,” he says. “These traits, along with years of experience, have given me the confidence to take on some pretty monumental tasks.”
Rice, like all of his coworkers, are loyal to their job, their employer, and their customers, setting them apart from chain stores.
“I always want to give customers the feeling that their money was well-spent by allowing us to take care of their needs. I want them to be able to, without any reservation, to refer us to anyone they know who could benefit from our products and services because of their own experience with us.”
